iHerb US Shipping Methods
Herb automatically selects the most efficient shipping method based on your region, package weight, and delivery speed. Most commonly, these are:
Method | Carriers | Notes |
---|---|---|
Expedited | FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL | Free for orders over $30. Most common delivery option. |
Air Express | UPS, DHL, etc. | Usually faster, often next-business-day. Paid option. |
⚠️ Not all states have both methods available. In some locations, only Expedited is offered.

Shipping to APO/FPO/DPO Addresses
If you’re in the military and using an APO/FPO/DPO address:
- Maximum order value: $100
- Maximum weight: 20 lbs (about 9 kg)
- Do not include city or country — only specify the military unit, PSC/CMR, ZIP code, and APO/FPO designation.

⚠️ Keep in Mind: Delivery times might stretch slightly during peak holiday seasons (like Black Friday or Christmas). The longest wait time reported was 7 days during a Black Friday rush when iHerb gets swamped with orders. Usually, iHerb will warn you during checkout if delays are expected.

Factors that affect delivery speed:
- Proximity to warehouse: iHerb warehouses are in California, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. States closest to these warehouses (like the states themselves) receive the fastest deliveries, often in just 2 days.
- Holidays and weekends: Can add a couple of days to delivery time.
- Order size: Very large orders may take a bit longer to process.
Our colleague Maria, who lives in Spokane, WA, shared:
“I was shocked when I moved to the U.S. from Europe! Over there, I waited 1–2 weeks for iHerb orders, but here, the very first order was delivered right to my door in just TWO days! Usually, it arrives within 2–3 days. So the delivery speed here is just amazing.”
How Much Does Shipping Cost?
- $5 flat fee if your order is under $30
- Free if your order is $30 or more
In our test order, we bought a jar of CollagenUP® weighing 0.76 lb and priced at $15.71. Since it was under $30, the shipping cost was $5.
We also used a $1.75 discount promo code, so the total came to $20.71.
How iHerb Delivers in the US: To Your Doorstep
Typically, the courier (UPS, USPS, FedEx, etc.) delivers the package directly to your door, whether it’s your home or office address.
Maria from Spokane says:
“What felt unusual after living in Europe is that here, there are almost no parcel lockers or pickup stations like Packstation or Parcel Lockers. Couriers often just leave the package at your door if you’re not home. In my neighborhood that’s fine, but I know it’s not like that everywhere. It can be inconvenient if you’re expecting something valuable or the weather is bad. In Europe, I could just go pick it up from a locker anytime.”
Tip: If you have a gate or building access code, iHerb recommends sharing it directly with the carrier once you get your tracking number, to avoid delivery issues.
iHerb USA Taxes and Duties (Spoiler: No Import Fees!)
Good news! When ordering from iHerb with delivery inside the United States, there are no customs duties or import taxes.
Why?
- iHerb is a US-based company.
- The warehouses shipping orders within the US are located in the US (California, Illinois, Pennsylvania).
- So it’s considered domestic shipping, not international import.
The only tax you might see is Sales Tax. This depends on the state and city you’re shipping to. If applicable according to your local laws, it’s automatically calculated and added during checkout. This is the standard sales tax applied to many purchases in the US, not a customs fee.
